Gov. Walker: Announces $750,000 for Stoughton Trailers expansion in Evansville

Company will Create 478 New Jobs in Evansville, Stoughton and Brodhead

MADISON—Governor Scott Walker today announced that Stoughton Trailers, LLC in Rock County, will receive a $750,000 loan from the Community Development Block Grant-Economic Development Program administered by the Department of Commerce (Commerce). The funds will be used by the company for equipment and training at their soon-to-be-reopened Evansville facility.

“Job creation is the number one priority for my administration,” Governor Walker said. “We are thrilled to assist Stoughton Trailers in their creation of more than 470 new jobs and the retention of over 600 jobs. We’ll continue to partner with the private sector to grow our economy and bring jobs to Wisconsin.”

Stoughton Trailers has been in the intermodal equipment manufacturing business since the early 1980’s. The company will invest nearly $11 million in new equipment, training and working capital. The project will create up to 302 new full-time positions in Evansville and another 176 new positions in the Stoughton and Brodhead plants as well. The project will also retain 614 jobs throughout the state.
