Why you should attend the National SBIR/STTR Conference, April 10-13, in Madison

MADISON – Small businesses with technology-based products and services need to innovate to remain competitive in an ever increasing global environment. For many small businesses, access to capital is vital and necessary to research and develop new products and services for domestic and international sales.

As an economic developer, having the knowledge about critical programs to support your businesses is key to supporting a strong economy. Come and learn about the annual $2 billion plus federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Programs from April 11-13, 2011, at the Monona Terrace.

“Wisconsin companies need to consider this funding to grow their businesses that will ultimately lead to more jobs and a stronger economy for decades to come,“ said Wisconsin Department of Commerce Secretary Paul Jadin. “Just recently, two existing companies, located in River Falls and Stoddard, were selected for USDA SBIR grants of $200,000 collectively. Over the next three years, these companies will bring back to Wisconsin nearly $1M in government funding, plus they will be in a stronger position to successfully commercialize their new products.”

Join the conference for a day ($200) or for the entire 3-day conference ($495). Participants will find the knowledge they gain and the connections they make well worth the investment. Madison is a close drive for most in the Midwest.
