Wausau, WI – December 6, 2010 – On December 3, 2010, the Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ) presented Attorney Christine Bremer Muggli with the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award. Since 2000, the annual award has been presented to an attorney who excels professionally and — just as importantly — demonstrates exceptional commitment as an advocate for injured consumers.

WAJ President Paul Gagliard presented the award to Attorney Bremer Muggli at the WAJ Annual Meeting and President’s Banquet, held at the Pfister in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 3, 2010.

Attorney Bremer Muggli has protected the rights of personal injury plaintiffs for over 30 years. She was listed on the Wisconsin Super Lawyers list in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, she was also named an honoree in Wisconsin Law Journal’s annual publication, Women in the Law, for her role as President of the WAJ and in founding the WAJ Women’s Caucus.

Currently, she serves as Vice Chair for the University of Wisconsin Institute for Public Policy and Service Advisory Board and is on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Civil Justice Education Foundation, Inc., as well as the Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ). She has also served as a Member of the Wisconsin Federal Nominating Commission for the past five years.

About the Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award.

Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award was established in 2000 to recognize a trial lawyer who has made contributions to the trial bar by handling a case involving a significant change in the law or precedent-setting suit, or by donating time on a committee or project that benefited injured consumers. The award is named in honor of Robert L. Habush for his years of dedication and commitment to the fight for the rights of accident victims nationwide and for the tremendous time and energy he has devoted to WAJ. Mr. Habush has served WAJ in many capacities, twice being president (1968-69) and 1971-72) and for ten years chairing the Legislative Committee. He also served as president of the national American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America) from 1986-87.
