Free, Public Lectures Highlight Physical, Emotional, and Cognitive Aspects of Healthy Aging

Menasha—The Wisconsin Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the University of Wisconsin–Fox Valley, is pleased to present Age On! A Series On Growing Older, Better, a new Academy Evenings program for fall 2010 at James W. Perry Hall in the UW–Fox Valley’s Communication Arts Center, 1478 Midway Road, Menasha, Wisconsin.

The Age On! series, which is free and open to the public, brings together a team of some of Wisconsin’s best minds on the subject of aging—practitioners and researchers from a variety of fields in medicine and the social sciences—to put an emphasis on health rather than disease. Speakers will present research on the physical, emotional, and cognitive aspects of healthy aging. This first-ever series of its kind in the Fox Cities is designed for Boomers who may be serving as caregivers for older adults or who are simply interested in their own positive aging.

The Wisconsin Academy is pleased to provide this rare opportunity for Fox Cities residents to hear and interact with top experts from UW–Madison on an increasingly important topic. The goal of the series is to give audiences a well-rounded understanding of aging along with some insight and tools with which to embrace the years ahead successfully. Information and resource tables will also be available at each presentation beginning at 6:15 pm, with the featured presenters starting at 7:00 pm.
