UWM: Hosts Downtown Open House tomorrow

MILWAUKEE – Back by popular demand, the UWM School of Continuing Education (SCE) Summer Open House returns for an afternoon of food, fun, friends and learning. Held in conjunction with Downtown Employee Appreciation Week, the event takes place Thu., July 29 from 11am-1pm at the SCE (Plankinton Building, 7th floor).

Attendees are invited to attend four free 20-minute learning sessions with local organizations, including City Tins, Harley-Davidson, the Urban Ecology Center and Robert W. Baird & Co. Topics will include social media strategies for business, personal finances, Gen X and Y in the workforce and fun opportunities for enjoying nature this summer.

The first 200 through the door get a free City Tin coaster. That’s $10 to spend at a popular local restaurant – just for showing up! Guests can also enter to win free classes, UWM basketball tickets and onsite career counseling. Delicious build-your-own boxed lunches are available for only $3.

In celebration of the hard-working downtown employees, attendees are invited to bring their coworkers and friends to discover new learning opportunities, meet new people and connect socially via Twitter and Foursquare.
