April 19, 2010 — Reliable Water Services, a local provider of commercial water heaters, boilers and water softeners, and the Independent Business Association of Wisconsin (IBAW), invite Wisconsin businesses to enter the “How I Got My Business Out Of Hot Water” Challenge, a short essay contest where business owners share a compelling story about how they got out of a challenging situation and made their business even stronger.
Business owners are invited to submit a 500-750 word essay at http://www.hotwater247.com describing a demanding business situation that they found themselves in at any point in their business explaining, how they overcame it and how it helped strengthen their business strategy. The site has the rules and details for the programs.
The grand prize winning entry will receive $2,500; second prize winner will receive a new iPad or $500 cash; third prize winner will receive a Mini Netbook or $350 cash. Deadline for entries is midnight on Friday, May 28. Winners will be announced at an awards breakfast meeting on Friday, June 18th sponsored by IBAW at the Wisconsin Club.
Judges for the contest include Milwaukee entrepreneur Jon McGlocklin (former president of Bando McGlocklin Capital Corporation) and member of Bucks’ TV broadcasting team; Marcia Theusch, assistant vice president, Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation; and Bart Adams, board officer for IBAW and a partner with Kolb+Company.
Reliable and IBAW are launching this challenge to showcase businesses that, despite facing numerous challenges, have used innovative solutions to achieve success.
“We can all learn a lot from hearing about the creative strategies that businesses have used to overcome the financial and operational challenges that we all face at some point,” said Lynne Robinson, president of Reliable Water Services.
According to Bart Adams, “as we have seen time and time again with the IBAW membership, the area’s innovative and hard-working small business owners are among the heroes during this current economy.”
Headquartered in Milwaukee, Reliable Water Services provides water heaters, boilers and water softeners to apartment building owners, restaurants and commercial enterprises where a steady supply of hot water is essential to business operations. The company currently has 3,500 customers in seven states and offices in Milwaukee and Indianapolis. More information is available at HotWater247.com .
