Knupp & Watson & Wallman: Wisconsin business leaders to learn from creative masters

Madison Seminar Features Top Creative Minds

MADISON, Wis. – (October 21, 2010) – Top U.S. businesses are increasingly exploring the value of mashing together creative and business methods to reinvent processes and to deliver better and more profitable products and services.

Starbucks takes its product developers on creative “inspiration journeys” to view customers and trends. Boston Philharmonic conductor Benjamin Zander regularly speaks with organizations such as Pfizer and the U.S. Army on creative leadership. And now, Wisconsin business leaders have an opportunity to connect closely with creative leaders to develop big ideas for their businesses.

100:1 – Creativity at Work, a seminar hosted by Madison-based ad agency Knupp & Watson & Wallman on November 4, 2010 at Madison’s Sundance Theatre, brings creativity to the forefront of the business world by connecting the dots between innovative thinking, workplace culture and systematic business approaches by exploring how 3 diverse creative minds approach their crafts.

The interactive, idea-sharing seminar is designed to help businesses work through the 100 ideas it takes to come up with one truly great idea. Andy Wallman, President and Executive Creative Director of Knupp & Watson & Wallman (KW2), will moderate the session.

“Despite the odds, creating powerful ideas for any business is a must. And business leaders are looking to creative leaders for inspiration,” said Wallman, an award winning writer with a background in music and performance.

At 100:1 – Creativity at Work, creative leaders will discuss how and why they’re creative and explore how their methods can be incorporated into the workplace for competitive advantage.

The event features:

* Scott Dikkers, founding editor of The Onion, and the leading creative force behind the publication’s rise from a local college newspaper to an internationally acclaimed humor brand name. He recently launched Dikkers Cartoon Company, an online animation site.

* Executive Chef Tory Miller of L’Etoile, whose creativity has gotten him noticed far and wide with recognitions such as Santé Magazine’s “Culinary Hospitality of the Year” Grand Award, Gourmet Magazine’s “America’s Top 50 Restaurants,” Saveur’s “Top 100” and the title of Madison Magazine’s “2010 Chef of the Year.”

* Madison Symphony Orchestra Music Director, John DeMain, who is noted for his dynamic performances on concert and opera stages throughout the world. “A gifted orchestra builder,” according to The New York Times, DeMain has built the MSO into one of America’s leading regional orchestras.
