Madison, WI – The Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) held their annual Partner Connections Kick-Off Event at The Majestic Theater Wednesday, January 27th from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.
This annual event is the platform for the GMCVB to preview the year’s upcoming leadership and marketing initiatives.
Over 200 area business leaders gathered at the event and presentation.
Speakers included the GMCVB Chairman of the Board Wayne Glowac, President and Founder of Glowac+Harris+Madison, Inc. along with Deb Archer, President and CEO of the GMCVB. This year’s special guest speaker was Cindy Huber, Chief Executive Officer for the National Kidney Foundation (NKFW). Ms. Huber spoke on behalf of the 2010 National Kidney Foundation U.S. Transplant Games® coming to Madison July 30 – August 4.
The 2010 National Kidney Foundation U.S. Transplant Games is an Olympic-style event that celebrates the success of transplantation, honors those who have given the gift of life and calls attention to the need for more organ, tissue and eye donors.
The estimated direct impact of the Games upon the Madison area will be more than $2.5 million with approximately 7,500 people attending the week-long event in Madison. Of the attendees, 1,500 are transplant recipients that will participate in the Games.
