MADISON — Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Village of Curtiss, Clark County, will receive a $351,000 grant from the Community Development Block Grant–Public Facilities (CDBG-PF) program of the Department of Commerce to fund water system improvements.

“It is necessary for Wisconsin residents to have a reliable source of water,” Governor Doyle said. “By being preemptive, we can ensure that our communities remain strong.”

The project involves updating five existing wells, constructing four new wells, and building a 200,000 gallon storage tower. The improvements will ensure adequate water flow for residents, fire protection, and businesses. Project costs are expected to total $2,600,000.

CDBG-PF grants play an important role in helping communities finance a wide range of projects designed to enhance the economic vitality of the community through the provision of community infrastructure, the expansion of tax base, job creation, and increased private investment in downtowns.
