PORT WASHINGTON, WI — Franklin Energy Services, LLC, today announced that it will relocate its corporate headquarters to a larger site in Port Washington. The Company has entered into a long-term lease agreement with Milwaukee-based Lighthouse Development Co. for approximately 12,000 square feet of the former Smith Bros. Fish Shanty restaurant building located at 100 N. Franklin Street.

The Company implements energy efficiency programs for utilities and advocates sustainability. Currently, 32 employees work from a converted church in Port Washington for which the firm won a Wisconsin Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Leadership Award in 2006. The company has more than tripled its workforce in the past two years, and has outgrown its current space. About 10 corporate staff is dispersed in other locations and will be relocated to the new headquarters.

“The new location will allow all corporate staff to operate efficiently from one location and includes room for projected growth,” Chief Executive Officer Paul Schueller said. In addition to larger space, Schueller cited remaining in Port Washington and utilizing an existing building were important criteria in their search.

The space will be built-out to accommodate at least 50 people utilizing energy efficient technologies and sustainable practices such as the maximization of daylighting. Area architects and contractors have targeted completion for August.

Franklin Energy was founded in 1994 and specializes in the implementation of energy efficiency programs on behalf of utilities, states and municipalities. Headquartered in Port Washington, the firm has six additional Wisconsin locations as well as offices in Colorado, Michigan, and Minnesota.
