Baird Capital Partners: Adds Ferranti to portfolio management team

CHICAGO, July 27, 2010 – Baird Capital Partners (BCP), the U.S.-based buyout fund of Baird Private Equity, announced today it has added Roberto Ferranti as a Vice President in its Chicago office. As a member of Baird Private Equity’s Portfolio Management Program, Ferranti will focus on driving strategies to build value in Baird Capital Partners’ portfolio companies.

Through the Portfolio Management Program, Baird Private Equity builds value in its investments by partnering with portfolio company management to develop and execute strategies that drive profitable growth and margin enhancement. Leveraging Baird Private Equity’s global resources, the Portfolio Management Program has helped portfolio companies generate millions of dollars of value from their operations through working capital optimization, performance improvement, strategic and shared sourcing initiatives, and supply chain management. The Portfolio Management Program has also helped portfolio companies generate significant revenue opportunities through European and Asian distribution relationships.

Ferranti previously served as a Vice President in the Corporate Recovery Group of Mesirow Financial. He joins BPE with experience designing and implementing strategies to drive corporate financial performance, with a particular focus on operational and process improvement and performance enhancement, due diligence, supply chain, and operations management, among other areas. Prior to Mesirow, Ferranti was a manager in the Private Equity group of Kurt Salmon Associates in San Francisco, where he led teams through all facets of the due diligence process, to identify operational improvement opportunities and evaluate strategic investment decisions. Before that, Ferranti was a vice president at AlixPartners in Chicago, where he designed and implemented comprehensive improvement strategies to streamline operations and was recognized by the company with an achievement in excellence award for superior performance. Ferranti holds a MBA from University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business Administration and a BA in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University (Milan, Italy).
