UW-Eau Claire: Offers supervisory management seminars

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in May and June.

• “Supervisory Management 2” will be held April 30-May 1 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire and May 19-20 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse. Topics include establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, time management, delegating and developing employees.

• “Developing Change Resilience” will be held May 7-8 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics in this new seminar include six sequential stages of change that work in concert with how brains process information when new situations are encountered. Gain perspective, discover practical tools, identify resources and create change cycle success strategies.

• “Facing Conflict Head-On!” will be held May 14-15 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include the conflict process, frequent causes of organizational conflict, diagnosing the causes of impasse and how to productively manage conflict.

• “Managing Your Diverse Workforce” will be held June 11-12 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include age and gender differences, adaptation to difference, approaches to managing different people, and barriers to productivity, communication and work satisfaction.

• “Supervisory Management 3” will be held June 4-5 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant and June 16-17 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse campus. Topics include working toward more effective coaching, establishing job expectations and critical skills in the coaching process.

• “Managing Your Diverse Workforce” will be held June 11-12 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include age and gender differences, adaptation to difference, approaches to managing different people, and barriers to productivity, communication and work satisfaction.

Workshops meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual course fees are $425 per person and include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. Group fees are $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements.
