Silver Spring Foods, Erbert & Gerbert’s: Two companies, headquartered in Eau Claire, Wisconsin create recipe for success

Two Eau Claire, Wisconsin-based firms have partnered to introduce a recipe for success– creative sandwiches using fresh zesty sauces. Silver Spring Foods, the world’s largest producer and processor of horseradish and Erbert & Gerbert’s Subs and Clubs, with 47 stores in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and Colorado, have teamed to create two sandwiches to be featured at all stores until November 25.

Quatro is a chicken, cheddar and Cherrywood smoked bacon sandwich featuring Silver Spring Cranberry Wasabi Sauce, and the Spartan combines chicken and bacon with Silver Spring Peppadew Mustard adding the extra kick. Peppadew, a sweet and spicy fruit discovered in South Africa, is the first new fruit to be launched on the world market since Kiwi fruit 26 years ago, according to Eric Rygg, director of marketing at Silver Spring Foods. Mayo, lettuce and cucumbers round out the flavors of both sandwiches.

Rygg said the sandwich synergy makes sense, with both companies bringing something flavorful to the table.

“Our partnership is an example of how enterprising local businesses can form effective relationships if they look around and see who is doing what in a community and then brainstorm to see if there is a way to create something special,” Rygg said.
