Devo Properties announced today that CVS Pharmacy, one of the largest pharmacy chains in the United States, will bring a flagship store to the City of Franklin. CVS will construct a 13,225-square-foot store at the corner of South 51st Street and Rawson Avenue. The store is part of the shopping center that is known as Sendik’s West. The development is also anchored by a Bank Mutual and Sendik’s Food Market. Site improvements for the new CVS will begin this week. Construction of the new CVS store will commence shortly after the site improvements are completed. The store is expected to open in the Fall of 2009.
Sendik’s Food Markets, which opened October 31, 2007 in Franklin, is thrilled to have another anchor join the development. “We are very pleased to have CVS join us in Franklin. Given our higher than expected sales, we are certain CVS will be quite pleased with the business in this community,” said Ted Balistreri, who along with his two brothers, Nick and Patrick, and sister, Margaret Harris own Sendik’s Food Markets. The family’s other stores are in Elm Grove, Germantown, Grafton, Greenfield, Mequon, Wauwatosa, and Whitefish Bay.
Devo Properties is developing Sendik’s West, which includes an additional 39,700-square-feet of retail and office space. Devo Properties principal Greg Devorkin anticipates strong interest in the additional retail space based on the announcement that CVS will join Sendik’s and Bank Mutual as anchors in the shopping center. Devorkin noted that CVS selected Franklin because, “CVS understands the demographics and all the advantages such as population density and traffic that this site offers. I’m pleased to bring to the community of Franklin another stellar company with high quality offerings.”
Franklin Mayor Tom Taylor said, “CVS adds value to the City of Franklin. I look forward to another ribbon cutting at Sendik’s West.”
Sendik’s West is a mixed use center planned for upscale retail and professional offices. Devo Properties offices are located in Mequon, WI.
