MMAC: Milwaukee sick leave administrative rules — your turn to speak out

The City of Milwaukee has released its draft rules for implementation of the City’s Sick Leave Mandate. To review these rules, click here http://mmac.informz.net/z/cjUucD9taT0yODQwNzcmcD0xJnU9MTAxMDIzMDI4NCZsaT0xMDE3MTEw/index.html

A public comment period on these rules begins today and extends through April 24th. Two public hearings will be held on these draft rules. The first will be held April 8th, 6:00 p.m. at the Department of Public Works Office at 3815 North 35th Street in Milwaukee. The second will be held on April 22nd at a time and location yet to be determined.

In addition, written comments can be submitted emprel@milwaukee.gov or regular mail to the Department of Employee Relations, 706 City Hall, 200 East Wells Street, Milwaukee.

While MMAC remains optimistic that our legal challenge to the Sick Leave Mandate will eventually be successful, I would encourage you to review these draft rules closely and take advantage of these opportunities to share your input and concerns with the City. The Equal Rights Commission needs to have a thorough understanding of the real world impacts of these regulations on your business before they finalize these rules.

As you formulate your responses, please share your comments with us at sbaas@mmac.org so we can incorporate your concerns into our MMAC comments on these proposed rules.
