Jan 28, 2009 Arlington, TX–InvivoSciences LLC was among the top technology innovators from across the nation and around the world presenting at the March 24-25 WBTshowcase in Arlington, Texas. InvivoSciences’ ready-to-use tissues provide three-dimensional geometrics and physical environment that cells grow naturally, which bridges the gap between cell-based systems and isolated organ tissue systems or animal models, and can therefore act as an ideal model system for chemical screening assays for drug discovery and various toxicity testing. The system provides researchers with screening strategies that can assess the efficacies as well as potential toxicity of new drugs, including those for cardiac applications, in accurate, predictive detection environments requiring less time and cost than corresponding studies using animal models. Further, our ongoing commitment to research that pushes the boundaries of toxicity assessment in drug discovery helps reduce the risk of late-stage attrition in clinical trials. We provide automated, real-time, and high-content detection systems that are as predictive and cost effective as they are revolutionary.

The company’s technology, which, was rigorously screened and mentored by WBTshowcase commercialization experts to present to an audience including over 100 venture investors and Fortune 500 licensees. “The revolutionary nature of the technologies presenting at the WBTshowcase makes it a must-attend event for investors and licensing scouts,” said Paul Huleatt, WBTshowcase CEO. The WBTshowcase is the nation’s premier event showcasing the largest collection of undiscovered technologies emanating from the world’s leading universities, labs and research institutions.

CEO Ms. Ayla Annac reported “we are pleased to see the attention, validation and vote of confidence we got for our technology and business model. InvivoSciences is proud to be among two other successful Wisconsin companies selected to present at World Best Technologies Showcase and will do our best to present our technology in 2009 for this showcase.

Mr. Huleatt highlighted that the companies groomed to present at the WBTshowcase leave with new knowledge and contact to take their technologies to market and beyond. The 2008 World’s Best Technologies Showcase brought together over 75 world-class deals and attracted over 450 attendees including over 100 bonafide investors and Fortune 1000 licensees. According to Mr. Huleatt, approximately 1/3 of past WBTshowcase presenters have gone on to secure venture capital or a licensing/strategic partnering agreement with a Fortune 500 company. To date, past presenters have raised over $400 million in first (or next) round venture capital.
