Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is pleased to announce that Timothy F. Nixon, a shareholder and team leader of the firm’s Business Finance and Restructuring Practice Group, has been appointed by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to its Preliminary Review Committee.

The Preliminary Review Committee is an independent 14-person committee, consisting of nine lawyers and five public members, which reviews investigations involving complaints against attorneys to determine whether there is cause for the director of the Office of Lawyer Regulation to file a complaint against an attorney with the Supreme Court.

Nixon is a frequent lecturer and speaker on matters involving bankruptcy law and has been published extensively. He also has represented clients in cases before the United States Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, as well as in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States. His cases have included some of the largest bankruptcies filed in the country. Nixon is a member of the American College of Bankruptcy, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and serves on the American Bankruptcy Law Journal Editorial Advisory Board. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Bankruptcy Insolvency and Creditors Rights Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin as well as a State of New York bar member. Tim earned his master’s and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin.
