PSC to Hold Public Hearings on Proposed Rockdale to Paddock Transmission Line Between Beloit and Christiana

Public Encouraged to Provide Comments

MADISON – The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) will hold public hearings in

Janesville on Wednesday, February 13 regarding an application from American Transmission

Company (ATC) to build a transmission line from Beloit to Christiana.

Citizens are invited to provide testimony on ATC’s request to build approximately 35 miles of

new 345 kilovolt transmission line to connect the Paddock Substation in the town of Beloit and

the Rockdale Substation in the town of Christiana. In its application for the line, ATC states that

the project would give local utilities improved access to lower cost power from other areas in the

region, as well as provide a more stable electric system.

Public comments on ATC’s application will be included in the record the Commission will

review to make a decision. The Commission has the authority to approve, deny or modify the

application. Citizens are encouraged to attend one of the hearings, which are scheduled for:

Wednesday, February 13, 2008

3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
