Office of State Employment Relations Recognizes Enterprise Leadership Academy Graduates in Ceremony

MADISON, WI – State leaders gathered today to recognize the graduates of the State of Wisconsin Enterprise Leadership Academy.  Twenty-nine state employees completed the ten-month advanced management development program.


 


               “I commend and thank the participants of the 2007-2008 class for their dedication to excellence in government service.   Leadership programs such as these will help position our state government leaders to be well-equipped to face the workforce challenges ahead of us,” said OSER Director Jennifer Donnelly.   


 


            The ceremony’s keynote speaker was Mark O’Connell, Executive Director of Wisconsin Cities & Counties Association. O’Connell emphasized that as the demographics of our state and nation change dramatically in the next fifteen years, leadership development will be of critical importance.  Those employers who invest in the development of leaders and those employees who acquire leadership skills will put themselves in a position to succeed professionally and personally. 


              


               The State of Wisconsin Enterprise Leadership Academy’s purpose is to provide experienced managers an intensive training in advanced management and leadership skills in an effort to foster a culture that encourages high quality, well-trained managers and supervisors who recognize the importance of knowledge transfer and staff development.  An entry level


Enterprise Management Development Academy was launched in October, 2007 to extend this opportunity to aspiring and new leaders.
