Johnson Controls Increases Disaster Relief Assistance to China

Scope of devastation and employee response result in $1.4 million in support


MILWAUKEE, May 30 /PRNewswire/ — As the scope of the devastation in China has become known, Johnson Controls has increased its original donation to the Red Cross Society of China from $500,000 to $1 million for disaster relief efforts. In addition, Johnson Controls’ employees located in China have contributed over $300,000 and Johnson Controls’ Joint Ventures have contributed $130,000 to the disaster relief efforts as well.

Along with providing financial assistance, Johnson Controls is also donating numerous Optima batteries and tents to aid in the disaster response efforts. In total, Johnson Controls, its employees and its joint ventures have donated over $1.4 million (RMB 10 million) in financial support.


Johnson Controls has approximately 15,000 employees in China. To date, the earthquake has not directly impacted its facilities.
