Hal’s Harley-Davidson and Wisconsin Harley-Davidson
OCONOMOWOC, WIS., AUGUST 11, 2008 – Rev it up…Ride it out…and Rumble. Hal’s Harley-Davidson
of New Berlin and Wisconsin Harley-Davidson of Oconomowoc announce Waukesha County’s ULTIMATE
105th party, Thursday, August 28th through Sunday, August 31st. The two dealerships are teaming up with
Weekend in Waukesha to invite all bikers and fans of motorcycling to attend the 4‐day party located at
three celebration destinations.
Not just downtown Milwaukee, the Waukesha County collaborative party celebrates Harley‐Davidson’s
105th and runs concurrently throughout the weekend with a full program of special events and
entertainment at Hal’s Harley-Davidson and Wisconsin Harley-Davidson dealerships as well as downtown
Waukesha. Party-goers who attend all three celebration destinations will receive a free, dealersponsored,
limited edition collectable to commemorate this historic event.
“This year, our family celebrates 30 years of serving motorcyclists and enthusiasts in Waukesha County.
We’re very happy to share our passion for Harley and bring a celebration of this magnitude to the
people who have been so supportive of us all these years,” states Kirk Topel, President of Hal’s Harley-
Davidson and Wisconsin Harley-Davidson dealerships. “With so many people expected from across the
country and around the world, we are particularly pleased to partner with local Waukesha businesses to
help put our own personal stamp on the event. It is going to be great fun!”
Festivities at each location include nationally known bands, special events, vendors and food courts/beer
gardens. Hal’s in New Berlin is featuring the 2008 Milwaukee Rally Ultimate Poker Run with more than
$25,000 in cash/prizes and stunt shows by American Daredevil Bubba Blackwell. In Oconomowoc,
Wisconsin Harley-Davidson is showcasing the Nick Lee Burnout Tour and the Antique Bike Parade
led by Grand Marshal Jean Davidson. Weekend in Waukesha offers a major block party with eight square
blocks of festivities in historic downtown Waukesha and an open invitational custom bike show.
The combined party’s musical line-up is top notch including nationally-known bands and local favorites.
Live music ranging from classic rock to country and Hispanic music to the blues guarantees that you will
find a style that suits your mood. Groups featured throughout the three party destinations include the
Bodeans, Los Lobos, the Marshall Tucker Band, Montgomery Gentry, Foghat, Gregg Koch, Crossfire,
Plumb Loco, the Dirty Boogie Band, the Love Monkeys, Guess Who and Joe Nichols.
Special events of every kind and venue have been scheduled to offer unique entertainment for the entire
family–Teresi Dyno Drags Shootout, the Custom Jager Trike and daily live radio broadcasts on-site at
Hal’s in New Berlin, a Custom Bagger Bike Show and Drill Team Exhibitions by the Indianapolis Drill Team
and the Seattle Cossocks at Wisconsin Harley‐Davidson in Oconomowoc, and police motorcycle drill team
exhibitions and classic motorcycle movies in Waukesha.
The Antique Bike Parade, sponsored by Wisconsin Harley-Davidson of Oconomowoc, is a key party
highlight scheduled for Saturday, August 30th at 4 PM. If you enjoy the new Harley-Davidson museum,
come see and hear the old bikes “live” as hundreds of antique motorcycles travel the streets of Dousman,
Delafield and Oconomowoc. Based on the popularity of this event at the 100th celebration, this is a
repeat performance with Jean Davidson once again serving as Parade Marshal for the antique bike
parade. Davidson is the granddaughter of Harley‐Davidson founder, Walter Davidson.
Collectors and enthusiasts from all over the country plan to participate and attend this one-of-a-kind
parade. This year’s antique bike parade has been personally promoted by Davidson—a historic
enthusiast who waxes sentimental over old bikes in her role as ambassador and keynote speaker for the
national organization, Antique Motorcycle Club of America.
“Wonderful—that’s what this parade is! I’m old and I love all of the old bikes. Not just the Harley-
Davidsons but the Indians and other old bikes. They remind me of my Dad and my Grandfather. I was
the Grand Marshal for the parade at the 100th celebration and I am thrilled that we are doing this again
for the 105th,” Davidson energetically comments.
“It is an old fashioned kind of parade—a true country parade with folks sitting on the grass and on their
lawn chairs in front of farm houses and along roadsides,” she noted wistfully. “This is so different from a
city parade with busy streets and bleachers set up for crowds to watch. It will be a wonderful
opportunity to see and hear working antique bikes that you might never have a chance to see again….
Don’t miss it!”
Join the parade and be a part of history. Parade staging begins Saturday, August 30th at 2 PM in Dousman
at the corner of Main Street and Wilson Avenue. All bikes—not just Harleys‐‐are welcome to participate.
The one hour parade starts at 4 PM and the route follows Highway 18 east out of Dousman, turning
north on Highway C through Delafield, and going west on Highway 16 , then following Highway 67 south
to end at Wisconsin Harley-Davidson in Oconomowoc. Afterwards, there is a 5 PM post-parade party and
everyone is invited. (Parade route is subject to change; for up-to-date information, please see
