On Saturday, December 6th, the Cascade Marketplace will be open for holiday shopping.

MADISON, WI — Cascade Asset Management, Madison’s computer retirement and recycling center for nearly ten years, will open its doors for the first time to the public on Saturday, December 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to offer a wide variety of tested and refurbished computer equipment for sale.

Since 1999, Cascade traditionally sold its inventory of monitors, computers, laptops, digital cameras and other devices collected from large enterprises and local companies through on-line stores and wholesale channels. More than 250,000 assets have been resold for reuse by Cascade.

The first ever direct public sale will take place at Cascade’s Processing Facility on the northeast side of Madison at 6701 Manufacturers Drive , near Highway 51 and Hoepker Road . Some items included for sale are: 17” LCD flat screen monitors from $45 each; Pentium 4 dual core laptop computers from $200; and, desktop computers from $40 each.

Cascade is partnering with a local non-profit IT service organization called DaneNet, who can install low cost software and provide ongoing technical services to other 501(c)(3) organizations to get their computers up and running.

“With money tight this holiday season, we want to give non-profits and people from the local community an opportunity to get some great deals on quality electronics,” said James Windisch, director of the Cascade Marketplace. “You could get a great second computer for the kids at home, a new computer lab for your organization, or an inexpensive upgrade from your CRT monitor to a flat screen LCD monitor.”
