Nearly 1,500 petroleum industry personnel are attending the Wisconsin Petroleum Marketers & Convenience Store Association (WPMCA) annual trade show. Keynote speaker Ben Brockwell, director of data, pricing and information services at OPIS (Oil Price Information Service) will examine events that have impacted the petroleum industry during the last year. Mr. Brockwell is a noted expert on petroleum issues and has appeared on many national news networks. He began analyzing the issues during the first Arab Oil Embargo, more than 30 years ago.
Wisconsin’s petroleum marketers may be significantly impacted by the Governor’s budget proposals, most notably the Oil Franchise Fee and the Tobacco Fee. Retailers in town for the annual meeting will be available to speak with members of the media upon request about the real impact on their small businesses if these proposed fees become law.
