Wisconsin Business & Technology Expo Starts Wednesday

The third annual Wisconsin Business & Technology Expo, the ultimate business showcase for southeastern Wisconsin, will take place May 2-3, at Wisconsin State Fair Park.


 


The Expo is presented by Small Business Times. Wisconsin business executives pre-register to attend the Expo for free at https://www.webregnow.com/regsites/07051022/login.aspx.


More than 200 businesses and organizations have reserved booths to showcase their products, services and staff at the Expo.


 


With free pre-registered admission, attendees will be entitled to walk the Expo floor and attend any of more than 30 free seminars led by experts with advice about how to grow companies and become better leaders. In between the seminars, attendees are invited check out the Green Pavilion and Development Days area at the Expo. Commercial real estate is an industry that transcends all. And be sure to wander through the Executive Life Pavilion, where you’ll find plenty of intriguing ideas for how to spend your time after you leave the office. The Expo also will feature several premium events, including:


* The May 2 kickoff breakfast will feature author and consultant Lee Froschheiser, who helps executives become more effective leaders.


* The IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards Luncheon on May 2  will honor 10 of the most innovative companies in the region. Consultant and author Matt May will share his insights.


* Meet the winners of the Fittest CEOs Competition on May 2.


* Take a load off by attending the Expo After Hours reception on May 2.


* The second day will begin with the Manufacturing Summit, featuring an interactive panel discussion with four CEOs on May 3. The event will feature a CEO discussion about how Wisconsin manufacturers can compete in a global marketplace. The interactive panel discussion will be led by: Richard Armbrust, CEO of The Oilgear Co. in Milwaukee; Mike Graverson, president of National Tissue Co. LLC in Cudahy; Keith Trafton, CEO of Super Steel Corp. in Milwaukee; and David Reiland, president and CEO of Magnetek Inc. Tim Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, will discuss the ongoing importance of manufacturing to the regional economy.


* Meet the winners of the Bravo! Entrepreneur Awards, honoring some of the brightest company leaders in southeastern Wisconsin, during a luncheon on May 3. Consultant, author and entrepreneur Julio Melara will share his wisdom, and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett will discuss the need for the region to help its entrepreneurs grow their companies.

* The Expo will be kicked off with a breakfast seminar for Wisconsin business owners and managers led by consultant and best-selling author Lee Froschheiser. Froschheiser’s new book, “Vital Factors: The Secret to Transforming Your Business – And Your Life” is on the 800-CEO-READ Bestsellers List. Froschheiser will share his insights about corporate leadership and how to build strong management teams. His “Vital Factors” management system has been used to improve performance, execution and profitability at many companies, large and small. Froschheiser’s corporate clients have included Kia Motors, City National Bank, Ernst & Young, ConAgra, Oracle Corp., Kinko’s, Trader Joe’s, Domino’s Pizza, Dole Foods and Yahoo! The kickoff breakfast will start the Expo on May 2, and attendees of the breakfast will receive a copy of Froschheiser’s book.


* Matthew May, consultant and author of the highly acclaimed book, “The Elegant Solution: Toyota’s Formula for Mastering Innovation,” published by Simon & Schuster, will be the keynote speaker of the IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, May 2, at the Expo. May is the founder of Los Angeles-based Aevitas, a consulting company that partners with management teams to achieve excellence in innovation. As an outside consultant at the University of Toyota, May played a key role in the company’s growth to become the largest automobile manufacturer in the world. Attendees of the IQ Awards Luncheon will receive copies of May’s book. The IQ Awards Luncheon, which will celebrate innovative products, services or processes initiated by southeastern Wisconsin companies, will take place Wednesday, May 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


* Julio Melara, one of America’s top motivational gurus, will be the keynote speaker of SBT’s Bravo! Entrepreneurs Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Expo. Melara is an entrepreneur, an author, a publisher, a consultant and a speaker. He is president and co-owner of the Baton Rouge Business Report, a bi-weekly newspaper, and 225 Magazine, a consumer lifestyle publication. He owns Time for Action, a skills-building training firm offering public seminars, workshops and keynote speeches focused on personal and professional development. Melara, who was named one of America’s top motivational speakers by Selling Power magazine, will speak about “Choosing To Be Great Instead Of Big” at the Expo. The Bravo! Entrepreneurs program will salute southeastern Wisconsin’s most creative and innovative company leaders.
