SPRING GREEN, Wis., April 16 /PRNewswire/ — Taliesin(R) Preservation, Inc., the non-profit organization that operates Taliesin, Frank Lloyd Wright’s personal estate, today announced its 2007 tour schedule. Located near Spring Green, Wis., the 600-acre estate is home to Taliesin, Hillside Home School, Midway Farm, Tan-y-deri house, and Romeo and Juliet Windmill. Taliesin, a Welsh word meaning “shining brow,” has beautifully landscaped grounds and numerous other architectural features designed and built by Wright between the late 1800s and mid-20th century. Visitors can choose from in-depth as well as “highlights” tours of several buildings. Many of the buildings contain original furnishings and decorative items designed and used by Wright, as well his art collection and other artifacts he acquired during his lifetime, such as the Taliesin Fu Lions. Also called Fu Dogs, the bronze statues recently underwent a stabilization and conservation process. Tour proceeds help support restoration activities at Taliesin.

HILLSIDE TOUR (One Hour)

Guests see the magnificent Drafting Studio, the Theater used by Wright and his apprentices for musical and theatrical performances, and Assembly Hall.

TALIESIN HOUSE TOUR (Two Hours)

Constructed of simple and readily available materials-limestone and sandstone quarried nearby as well as natural wood and plaster, this is the most personal of Wright’s masterpieces. The house, which seems to grow from the site, has vistas of the surrounding countryside to the east and an intimate hill garden to the west. Visiting the house, filled with Wright’s furnishings and art collections, provides the most intimate view into the genius of America’s greatest architect.

HIGHLIGHTS TOUR (Two Hours)

Experience the interiors of two significant, yet distinctly different Wright-designed buildings, Hillside and Taliesin. Created for the Wright enthusiast and the casual visitor, this tour couples the history and masterful design of two architectural landmarks into one quick-paced two-hour tour.

ESTATE TOUR ( Four Hours)

Architecture enthusiasts consistently cite this tour as a highlight of their travels. Combining the Hillside and House tours with a walk across the estate, this experience provides a unified view of the seven decades of Wright’s work at Taliesin.
