Secretary Gassman to Honor DWD Colleagues for Service to Veterans

Madison – Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Roberta Gassman on Monday will honor department employees for providing outstanding service to veterans. In a ceremony at the department, 23 employees from across the state will be recognized for job training and placement services they provided veterans.


As a member of Governor Doyle’s cabinet, Secretary Gassman leads the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and oversees 1,900 employees charged with strengthening Wisconsin’s workforce.  With a budget of more than $2 billion, DWD provides training and employment assistance to job seekers, enforces worker’s rights, administers Unemployment Insurance, Apprenticeship, and Worker’s Compensation and works with employers to fill jobs.
