Tower Tech Acquires South Dakota-based Energy Maintenance Service


MANITOWOC, December 10, 2007 – Manitowoc-based Tower Tech Holdings, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement to acquire Energy Maintenance Service, LLC (EMS), a full service provider to the wind industry based in Gary, South Dakota.

Tower Tech is dedicated to the production of components for energy and infrastructure-related industries, and one of Tower Tech’s primary focuses is the manufacture of components for the wind industry.  The company produces tower support structures through its Tower Tech Systems subsidiary and gearing systems through its Brad Foote Gear Works subsidiary. 


 


EMS offers operations services to the wind industry, including engineering and construction, training, and wind farm management.  The company employs over 170 people throughout the United States, and the acquisition will allow Tower Tech to expand its customer portfolio in the North American wind energy market.
