Official Beer of UFC Offers Vegas Trip, Fight Lesson, Event Tickets and More in Latest Promotion; Instant Prizes Also Awarded at MickeysThrowsDown.com
MILWAUKEE, June 11 /PRNewswire/ — When Mickey’s Brewing Company announced its alliance with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2006, the “Fine Malt Liquor” promised to bring fans closer to the action. It doesn’t get any closer than Mickey’s Throws Down. The brand’s latest promotion offers the grand prize winner a trip for four to Las Vegas, admission to a UFC event and a fight lesson with popular light heavyweight Forrest Griffin, who appears on 24-ounce Mickey’s cans throughout the promotion.
The promotion, which runs June 1 through Aug. 31, 2007, on MickeysThrowsDown.com, also offers daily prizes (maximum one entry per day, per person), including Mickey’s-branded sweatshirts, hats, T-shirts, ice buckets and rebates on UFC pay-per-view events, where legal. The grand prize winner will be determined through a drawing of all eligible entries.
“Mickey’s fans enjoy being a part of the action, and with Mickey’s Throws Down, we’re certainly making that possible,” said Mickey’s brand manager Patrick Minogue. “In addition to being the official beer of the UFC, Mickey’s wants to be the official beer of fans’ fight parties, so our prizes aim at providing an authentic, exciting UFC experience for fans watching at home with their buddies.”
The drawing to determine the grand prize winner will take place in early September. Daily winners on MickeysThrowsDown.com will find out when the words “You win a prize,” and the prize description appear on the computer screen. The promotion is open to citizens of the United States (excluding California) who are of legal drinking age at the time of entry. Official rules are available at Mickeys.com.
Legal-drinking-age California residents are eligible for a separate offer, also available at http://www.mickeysthrowsdown.com/. Every Thursday from June 14 through Aug. 30, an offer will be available from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pacific Time. The offers include Mickey’s coupons, rebates on UFC Pay-Per-View events, discounts on Mickey’s apparel, Forrest Griffin ring tones, web chats and more.

About Miller Brewing Company:
As one of America’s oldest brewers, Miller Brewing Company continues the commitment of founder Frederick J. Miller to brew ‘confoundedly good beers’ with ‘uncompromising quality.’ Through more than 150 years of innovation and brewing excellence, Miller has built a broad portfolio of award-winning beers that capture approximately 18 percent of the U.S. beer market. In the past decade, Miller beers have won 105 medals — more than twice as many as its major competitors — at the biannual World Beer Cup and annual Great American Beer Fest. An unprecedented four time gold award winner at the World Beer Cup, Miller Lite is the great tasting, less filling beer that has defined the American light lager category since 1975. Miller also brews smooth, golden rich Miller Genuine Draft using a unique cold-filtering process introduced in 1985. The company’s oldest brew is Miller High Life, the champagne of beers. Miller imports Peroni Nastro Azzurro, Pilsner Urquell and Foster’s, and it offers regional craft brews from the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company and the Blitz-Weinhard Brewing Company. Near-premium beers include Milwaukee’s Best Light, Steel Reserve, Olde English 800, Mickey’s Malt Liquor, Icehouse and Sharp’s, a non-alcohol brew. Miller also offers the Sparks line of caffeinated alcohol beverages. Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of SABMiller plc, the world’s second largest brewer.
