Governor Doyle Signs Legislation Requiring Truth in Advertising for Musical Performances

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today signed Senate Bill 133, which prohibits advertising or conducting a live musical performance using a false, deceptive, or misleading connection between the performing group and a group that released a recording under the same name.  The bill will be enforced by the district attorney or attorney general with violators facing penalties of up to $15,000.


 


The Governor thanked Senators Spencer Coggs, and Scott Fitzgerald as well as Represenatives Mark Pocan and Mary Williams for their work on SB 133.
