Governor Doyle Announces $51,000 to Support Economic Development in Fall River

MADISON-Governor Jim Doyle today announced $51,000 from the Department of Commerce to help upgrade infrastructure and support economic development in the Village of Fall River.

“Growing Wisconsin’s economy has been the top priority of my Administration since day one,” Governor Doyle said. “We need to continue our investments to upgrade infrastructure, and provide communities and businesses with the resources they need to grow.”

Badger Custom Pallet, founded in Sauk City, manufactures pallets and crates. The company is currently relocating to the Village of Fall River and is building a new facility within the village’s industrial park. About 95 percent of the raw materials used by Badger Custom pallet are purchased from Wisconsin suppliers. Today’s Commerce grant will be used by the village to improve water infrastructures within the Fall River industrial park to aid in the construction of the new facility. Total project cost is $2,547,770.

Community Development Block Grant-Public Facilities for Economic Development grants from the Department of Commerce play an important role in helping communities finance a wide range of projects designed to enhance the economic vitality of the community through the provision of community buildings, the expansion of tax base, job creation, and increased private investment in downtowns.
