Award-Winning 2007 Miller Urban Entrepreneurs Series Offers $35,000 Top Business Grant


Entrepreneurs Encouraged to Submit Applications by November 30th


MILWAUKEE, Nov. 19 /PRNewswire/ — The Miller Urban Entrepreneurs Series and Business Plan Competition has awarded close to $800,000 to nearly 80 urban entrepreneurs across the country, since its inception eight years ago.


For 2007, Miller is offering one $35,000 top business grant, plus six $15,000 grants and five $5,000 grants to aspiring and current entrepreneurs ages 21-35. Last year’s winners included Atlanta’s Brown Technologies LLC, $50,000; Okoro Media Systems of Chicago, $20,000; and Marchand Ink in New Orleans, $20,000.


Now comes the opportunity for the next crop of budding entrepreneurs to win big as the deadline approaches for this year’s contest. Whether a business already exists, or is in its start-up stages, eligible entrepreneurs (21-35 years old) must submit a business plan along with an official application by Friday, November 30, 2007. A select team of national judges will choose one $35,000 grand prizewinner, six $15,000 winners and five $5,000 winners. The judges, who award the prizes based on the business plan and an oral presentation, include esteemed professionals from the business community.
