UW Oshkosh: Sessions will show how to comply with OSHA standards

OSHKOSH – Seminars to help employers determine if their health and safety program meets federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements will be sponsored in Appleton and Oshkosh by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Small Business Development Center (SBDC).

The all-day Appleton sessions will be 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Highway 441 and College Avenue, Appleton. The Oshkosh sessions will be at the same times on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1355 W. 20th Ave., Oshkosh.

The sessions will show employers how to comply with OSHA requirements and keep their workplace safe.

Those attending may participate in a free site health and safety program audit to determine if their firm’s comply with OSHA requirements.

Ron Meleney, president of R and S Consulting, will lead the sessions. He will explain health and safety program requirements, beginning with preparation for an OSHA visit. The afternoon session will cover compliance with OSHA hazard communication requirements.

Melenay has more than 30 years of experience in safety program development and implementation. He is an authorized OSHA general industry outreach program trainer and a professional rescuer with the American Red Cross.
