Platypus Technologies, LLC a life sciences nanotechnology company, announced today that it recently presented at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Life Sciences Showcase in San Jose, California, June 28-29, 2006. This invitation-only showcase highlighted selected, top-quality emerging life science companies funded by the National Institutes of Health. Platypus showcased its forthcoming product lines of diagnostics, monitors, and sensors based on the use of nanostructured surfaces and liquid crystals. According to Platypus CEO, Dr. Barbara Israel, “Our products will be useful in basic research, clinical medicine, environmental studies and military applications.” Platypus has received over $13 million in federal funds to advance the development of its powerful platform technology.
