Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce: Awarded grant to form an Inventor and Entrepreneur Club for Waukesha County

BROOKFIELD, WI April 17, 2006 ? The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce announces that it has been awarded a grant from the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Network (WEN) and Wisconsin Department of Commerce to form an Inventor and Entrepreneur Club for Waukesha County. The Club will be known as Brookfield I&E Club, Serving Waukesha County. The Chamber partnered with Waukesha County Economic Development Corporation, City of Brookfield Economic Development Committee, and the following Chambers of Waukesha County: Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Muskego, Mukwonago, Delafield and Hartland.

“This award will help identify and nurture entrepreneurs and inventors in Waukesha County and make a positive contribution to the growing and vibrant local and regional economy,” said Carol White, Executive Director of the Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.

The grant program draws on a successful model established by the Juneau County Economic Development Corporation. Founded in 2003, this club now has over 300 members. There are now eleven county I&E Clubs in the State of Wisconsin.

Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke said, “ I’m confident that I&E Clubs can help us build a climate where inventors and entrepreneurs with good ideas can create tomorrow’s new businesses and new jobs.”
