Governor Doyle Announces Dairy Expansions

MADISON- Governor Jim Doyle today announced that two dairy producers have received $164,000 in loans from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) to increase milk production in Wisconsin.

“In Wisconsin, farming and agriculture and not just what we do, but who we are,” Governor Doyle said.  “We need to continue to support our dairy industry to help it grow and I’m pleased we could assist these two dairies in increasing their milk production.”

The following summarizes the successful projects:

Schuh View Dairy, Kaukauna, Outagamie County, has received a $100,000 loan from the Milk Volume Production (MVP) program to purchase 400 cows in connection with an expansion.  The dairy is investing an additional $1.8 million in the expansion, which will include the construction of an eight-row freestall barn with self-contained manure pit.  The project will create six jobs.
