Gov. Doyle: Announces $1 Million for T-Lon Products, Inc. to Expand Hartland Facility

HARTLAND – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that T-Lon Products, Inc. will receive Industrial Revenue Bond (IRB) allocations totaling $1.75 million to help the company expand and make new investments in Wisconsin.  Governor Doyle joined T-Lon owners Bob and Chris Olson for the announcement at the company’s facility in Hartland.

“Manufacturing is, and will continue to be, at the heart of Wisconsin’s economy,” Governor Doyle said.  “And T-Lon is exactly the type of manufacturer we are looking to grow here in Wisconsin – a high-end manufacturer, requiring a high-end workforce.  For over 20 years, T-Lon has invested in Wisconsin – and today the state is making an investment in them.”

T-Lon Products, Inc. is constructing a new facility with nearly 37,000 square feet of space.  This project will create 25 jobs, retain 70 jobs, and generate $2.7 million in new capital investment.

“Our new building will allow us to manufacture within a modern facility incorporating improved efficiencies and additional space necessary to accommodate and sustain growth,” says T-Lon President Chris Olson. “The IRB, because of the subsidized interest rate, is simply the most attractive funding alternative currently available.  We are pleased to take advantage of this program.”

T-Lon Products, Inc. is one of the largest American manufacturers of PTFE components for industrial applications.  PTFE is more commonly referred to as referred to as Teflon(r).  The company provides products globally, but supports many Wisconsin manufacturers as well, with components to the mobile hydraulics, agriculture equipment, fluid power, electronic, chemical and energy process industries.

Industrial Revenue Bonds are bonds free of federal tax issued by local governments, and the proceeds are loaned to new or expanding businesses for development projects.  The interest rate is generally below the going prime rate.
