Oshkosh – Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Roberta Gassman today commended the Oshkosh Truck Corporation for being a premier employer in hiring veterans.

“The men and women who serve our country represent the greatest values of our state with an incredible work ethic and strong character,” said Secretary Gassman. “The hiring of veterans is a win-win situation, helping military families ease their way into civilian life and ensuring that Wisconsin has the most competitive workforce. The hiring practices at Oshkosh Truck set a great example for other employers throughout the state.”

The Oshkosh Area Workforce Development Center nominated Oshkosh Truck Corporation for the “Large Employer of the Year” award from the American Legion for its practice of hiring veterans. The Oshkosh Area Workforce Development Center works closely with Oshkosh Truck Corporation and other local employers to help develop and maintain a well-trained workforce.
