Construction has begun on the final phase of Hawthorn Point at Conservancy Place in DeForest where Park Towne Realty, LLC is marketing two additional condominium lots.

Jim Ring, president of Park Towne Development, the Madison-based firm developing the mixed-use Conservancy Place, said one lot would allow up to 68 condominiums to be built with the other available for up to 27 units.

Conservancy Place, under development for the last four years, is a 650-acre master planned community in DeForest, which includes single-family homes, condominiums, and eventually apartment units, a commercial office park and retail center. It includes the sold-out Woods Glen neighborhood, the Hawthorn Point neighborhood, with 30 homes built and additional lots available for home construction and Innovation Springs, the commercial office park. Additional neighborhoods will continue to be developed over the next l0 years.

Located on River Road between County Highway V and Highway 19, Conservancy Place’s focal point is the 3.5 miles of the Yahara River that runs through the property, the approximately 200 acres of open space and the walking trails through the woods and along the river. Four of the seven miles of walking trails are complete. The plan calls for connecting neighbors and businesses with walkways and bike trails.

Conservancy Place is being created with innovative sustainable design including infiltration swails along streets, use of natural and recycled materials, rain gardens and a 75-foot buffer within the wetlands to protect the Yahara River.

Conservancy Place has appealed to buyers interested in sustainable design, nature and conservation, Ring said. The developer is providing cash incentives to builders who have their homes certified as Green Built®.
