-Investment made to handle increased customer demand-
New Holstein, WI (March 24, 2006) – In response to increased orders from new and current customers, Amerequip Corporation, which manufactures mowers, tractors, backhoes, and equipment attachments, is making a $3.5 million capital investment to accommodate its growing business.
Amerequip has landed significant new customers and is expecting additional customers on new and existing products in the coming months all the while seeing increased orders from John Deere. This increased demand has necessitated the purchase of equipment, upgrade of facilities, and a need to increase employment by up to 30 jobs.
“What we currently have in process for the next 12 to 18 months will show substantial growth in 2006 with additional growth in 2007 and out years. These additions should return us to employment levels of 5 and 10 years ago.” said Mike Vander Zanden, Vice President of Operations for Amerequip Corporation.
The company has been in hiring mode since November. Vander Zanden said the company needs up to an additional 30 employees for all three shifts. Amerequip is seeking welders, machinists, and fabricators. Starting pay will range from $10 to $11 dollars per hour.
Amerequip Corporation employs just over 200 employees in a city of 1,518 people.
“This is a real success story. When you look back at the ups and downs of the area, the progress at Amerequip and what they are forecasting is just a huge success story for this company and for New Holstein,” said New Holstein Mayor Ron Karrels.
The equipment purchases include four lasers and additional robotic welders. The robotic welders are more accurate, dependable, and 50 to 75 percent faster than manual welding.
Facility improvements include plant modernization at its New Holstein plants and plant floor location changes within its Kiel plant to allow for integrated manufacturing of new product lines.
