OSHKOSH – The new University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh annual report shows significant increases in minority student enrollment, student retention, degrees awarded, research grants awarded to faculty and gifts to the UW-Oshkosh Foundation over the last five years.

For the first time, the report has been issued online. You can read it all at http://www.uwosh.edu/strategicplan.

In order to reduce costs, the campus will not print the full report, but limited quantities of the 2004-2005 Annual Report Highlights are available. Call (920) 424-2442.

“This report to the community shows just how far we have come in the past five years, despite budget cuts and tuition increases,” said Chancellor Richard H. Wells. “It’s astonishing, frankly, and a tribute to the vigor and dedication of our students, faculty and staff.”

Wells praised everyone on campus for working together to “focus our limited resources on identified priorities, then working hard to achieve them.”

The report shows that between 2000 and 20005:

· Annual grants to faculty have increased 216 percent, from $3,657,419 to $11,659,094.
· Enrollment of students of color increased by 58 percent.
· Foundation gifts and pledges increased from $1.7 to $4.9 million, about 188 percent.
· Students from the top 10 percent of their high school class have increased 3.4 percent, while there are 11.1 percent more from the top 25 percent of their high school class.
· UW-Oshkosh has completed about $75 million worth of capital building projects and has another $100 million worth of capital projects scheduled soon.
· The campus has achieved major cost savings and earned national acclaim for its commitment to “green” principles.
