APPLETON, WI – Schenck Business Solutions has announced that the firm has recently joined the AICPA’s Governmental Audit Quality Center. By becoming a member of the Center, the firm demonstrates its commitment to audit quality in the critical area of governmental audits. Schenck currently has a team of over 30 professionals who focus on providing governmental and not-for-profit auditing and consulting services.

Governmental audits are very diverse and include all audits and attestation engagements performed under Government Auditing Standards of federal, state, or local governments; not-for-profit organizations; and certain for-profit organizations. Governmental audits include audits performed under the Single Audit Act Amendments of 1996 and OMB Circular A-133, Audits of States, Local Governments and Non-Profit Organizations (referred to as single audits), program specific audits as defined under OMB Circular A-133, and other compliance audits and attestation engagements performed as required by federal, state, or local laws and regulations.

In addition to gaining access to guidelines and tools focused around quality improvement, members of the Center are subject to membership requirements pertaining to audit quality. The Center is a place for firms to share best practices, learn about emerging issues, and take steps to enhance quality in their practices.
