Professional Dimensions: Nominations Now Being Accepted for the Prestigious 2006 Professional Dimensions Sacagawea Awards

Professional Dimensions is currently accepting nominations for the prestigious 2006 Sacagawea Awards. Professional Dimensions is a membership organization that promotes the personal and professional growth of women through social and business exchange and through community participation. The Sacagawea Award are presented annually to two Milwaukee area women who exemplify the trail blazing spirit of Sacagawea, the young Native American women who led Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition. Professional Dimensions seeks nominations of women of many dimensions who have demonstrated this spirit by their significant personal career accomplishments, a commitment to community service and support for the advancement of women.

The awards have been presented since 1982. The 2005 recipients were Thelma Sias, Vice President of Local Affairs for We Energies and Mary Ellen Stanek, Managing Director and Director of Asset Management for Robert W. Baird, & Co.

The Sacagawea Awards will be presented at a banquet to be held at the Midwest Airlines Center on March 8, 2006. Proceeds from the banquet will benefit the Professional Dimensions Charitable Fund, which is currently supporting The Women’s Harm Reduction Program of the Benedict Center, which focuses on the educational and personal development needs of women in conflict with the law as an alternative to incarceration.

Since Professional Dimensions’ founding in 1978, its scholarship and charitable giving have exceeded half a million dollars. Professional Dimensions has more than 350 members from the Greater Milwaukee Area.
