Wausau–Two upcoming seminars in Wausau October 19 and November 3 will discuss business strategies area companies can use to increase sales by exporting their products around the world. The seminars are a joint effort of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce, the Marathon County Development Corporation and the Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation. Both seminars include lunch and will be held from 8:30-1:00 p.m. in the B.A. and Esther Greenheck Lounge inside The Great Hall, 401 N. Fourth Street, Wausau. On October 19, Arik Johnson, managing director of Aurora Worldwide Development, Chippewa Falls, will facilitate a discussion about the worldwide competitive marketplace and how businesses can effectively “out-smart, out-maneuver and out-innovate” low-cost competitors. Attendees will explore ways to conduct international market research and gather competitive intelligence effectively and efficiently.

On November 3, Paul Hsu, Wausau, president of Hsu Ginseng Enterprises, will share his extensive knowledge about exporting products to Asia and conducting business in China during the past 30 years. Bethany O’Day, executive director of Comunidad Hispana, Merrill, will discuss her observations of the Chinese culture based on her experiences while working as the Vice Dean of the International Cooperation College of Xi’an International University, one of China’s top private universities.
