MILWAUKEE (August 30, 2005) – Hoffman York’s creative work on exhibit at the Eisner Museum, the only Museum dedicated to advertising and design in the United States, has been extended through the month of October. Ads for the Chicago White Sox and Egg Innovations – two of the four ads responsible for Hoffman York’s O’Toole recognition this year – are displayed, as well as A&W, Arlington Park, Jensen, Sprint, the Wisconsin Lottery and two of Hoffman York’s infamous April Fool’s Day ads.
Since 2000, the Eisner Museum has showcased a variety of national and international exhibits including campaigns from ad agencies Doyle Dane Bernbach and Arnold Advertising, as well as designers Paul Rand and Milton Glaser.
The Hoffman York exhibit is being held in conjunction with “Advertising Comes of Age,” a traveling exhibit that tells the story of modern advertising from its inception in the 1920 through the 1960s. Opening September 15 is “Right Here in the USA,” an exhibit featuring the work of 24 of the nation’s best illustrators and photographers in the country and their work for numerous big brands including Nike, Altoids and American Express. The exhibit shows the importance and impact of illustration and photography in advertising, as well as how styles change from coast to coast.
