MILWAUKEE, WI (December 16, 2005). The law firm of Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. has announced the addition of William R. Hotz to its Financial Institutions Practice Group as special counsel in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Hotz brings to Godfrey & Kahn more than 35 years of legal experience through previous posts as a financial institutions regulator, general counsel for a public bank holding company, and law firm shareholder.

Hotz previously served as general counsel for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago as well as the Wisconsin Office of Commissioner of Savings and Loan. He later practiced for more than 10 years as a shareholder in the Real Estate and Financial Institutions sections of a Milwaukee law firm. Most recently, he spent more than six years as corporate secretary, general counsel, and a member of the senior management team of St. Francis Bank and its publicly traded corporate parent, St. Francis Capital Corporation.

Hotz received his law degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his undergraduate degree in economics and political science from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.
