MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that the Village of Crivitz, Marinette County, will receive a Community Development Block Grant Public Facilities for Economic Development (CDBG-PFED) grant totaling $222,000 to make infrastructure improvements to the Dyer Business Park.

“My Grow Wisconsin plan calls for investing in our infrastructure to help our communities expand, and create jobs,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that the Village of Crivitz will use this grant to extend streets, and sanitary sewer and water mains to the Dyer Business Park, providing nearly 40 new jobs for the community.”

The city will extend streets, sanitary sewer and water mains, storm water mains, and lights to the eight-acre Dyer Business Park. The business park will provide nine lots available for development. Seven businesses, four of which are start-ups, have committed to developing in the park. The project will create 37 jobs. The total project cost is $1.2 million.

CDBG-PFED grants play an important role in helping communities finance a wide range of projects designed to enhance the economic vitality of the community through the provision of community buildings, the expansion of tax base, job creation, and increased private investment in downtowns.
