MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced grants totaling $674,893 to four organizations through the Projects for Assistance in the Transition from Homeless (PATH) program administered by the Department of Commerce (Commerce).

“Expanding access to affordable housing not only helps meet the needs of our citizens, it encourages economic development,” said Governor Doyle. “These grants will further our commitment to helping all Wisconsin residents have a decent, affordable place to live, while helping strengthen community infrastructure to support growth.”

The four organizations will use the funds to provide services to individuals transitioning out of homelessness. The organizations will also use the funds to provide training and technical assistance for staff in other parts of the state and build the capacity of additional programs that serve homeless persons with a serious mental illness.

The awards are as follows:

Health Care for the Homeless Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, $285,725. It will provide service to Milwaukee County
Rock County Human Services, Rock County, $219,210. It will provide service to Rock County
Tellurian UCAN, Inc., Dane County, $135,000. It will provide service to Dane County
Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley, Outagamie County, $34,958. It will provide service to Outagamie County.
