Dept. of Commerce: Governor Doyle Announces $250,000 for Signicast Corporation to Expand Operations in Wisconsin

HARTFORD – While visiting the company as part of his “Capital for the Day” events in Washington county, Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Signicast Corporation of Hartford will receive $250,000 in Technology Zone tax credits from the Department of Commerce to assist with the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Hartford, creating nearly 20 new jobs for Washington County.

“My Grow Wisconsin initiative calls for investing in Wisconsin’s economy by fostering manufacturing growth and technology development,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that we could assist Signicast Corporation as it undertakes a significant expansion.”

Signicast Corporation produces highly-engineered steel investment castings using a proprietary manufacturing approach. The company is investing $25 million to construct and equip a new, 85,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in Hartford. Signicast is a part of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Technology Zone.

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Technology Zone provides incentives for high-tech growth in Manufacturing and Automation, Biomedical Technology and Informatics, and Health Care, among others. The Metropolitan Milwaukee Technology Zone includes the counties of Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha.
