Wisconsin based husband and wife design team Jon and Kandy Brouchoud’s entry in the C2C-Home Design Competition was recently selected from 627 entries from 42 countries for construction in Roanoke, Virginia.

Sarah Susanka, a member of the jury and author of The Not So Big House Series, praised the Brouchoud’s design, saying she “thought it was a wonderful design and one that people will really love.”

The Discovery Channel, PBS, and HGTV have all expressed interest in following the construction of these homes, which will take place this summer.

Since the couple’s success in Virginia the Brouchoud’s have been contacted by numerous Wisconsin residents to have similar homes built locally. While the Brouchoud’s do not design exclusively sustainable homes, they feel like what they have learned from the C2C Home Competition has enabled them to offer a fantastic option for their clients and they look forward to developing some Wisconsin models.

“We are very excited to be able to participate in this. With the rising cost of energy, and a growing sense of urgency to protect our natural resources, we can’t imagine a better time for this to be happening,” said Kandy Brouchoud.

The Brouchoud’s design studio, Crescendo Design, is located on Lake Michigan about 70 miles north of Milwaukee in Cleveland, WI. For more information, the Brouchoud’s can be contacted at 920.726.4177, or visit them at www.crescendodesign.com.
