Air Wisconsin cancelled four flights out of Milwaukee Sunday morning after an “unusually” high number of employees called in sick, a
spokeswoman said.
The airline’s Kelly Lanpheer said one of the affected flights was to Denver and the other three were to Chicago. The Denver passengers were
rebooked on another carrier, as were some of the Chicago-bound passengers. Others were sent to Chicago by Greyhound.
She said operations returned to normal after 9:30 a.m. Lanpheer did not refer to the incident as a “sick out.”
Officials with the AFL-CIO and Machinists unions said they did not know of any labor action Sunday involving Air Wisconsin.
